Picked this up the other day and the first thing I noticed was how heavy duty it feels. Some of these all in one type of items can promise the world, but be very cheaply made. This seems to be very durable and well made. The item fits 16 of the most popular sized sockets (standard and metric)and what makes it different from a lot of all in one wrenches out there is this one ratchets so you do not have to keep taking the tool off the bolt. I have only used this once thus far and was using to tighten up the bolts on my grill, but can see a lot of uses for this. Solid tool and could eliminate the need for a big socket set if you are using just for everyday, around the house jobs.   -By Gear Head

Ratchet sets are bulky, and this crams a bunch of ratchets into one wrench. This tool is great for putting it into your generic job toolbox; the one you take around for "just in case" situations.
I was surprised by the weight of this thing when it arrived. It's very solid and weighs 1 to 1.5 lbs.

I was originally concerned by the red ring that is used for switching the ratchet direction, as it looked plastic. It is hard to tell what the red part is made of, but it appears to be a very hard plastic coating over metal. I tried scraping and tugging at it with a pair of pliers and all it left was a small scrape, that didn't hurt it at all.

I tried it on a couple of different nuts and the fits were good. I don't know if the nuts that I tried were metric or SAE, but it did the trick. I did notice that the head that swivels to switch sizes moved on me a bit while working with it, but it's a minor complaint. Like a dunderhead I ran over some roofing nails with my kubota tractor and the tires kept going flat every 2 days. Well, 3 plugs later and I didn't love any air over the course of a month and in the winter nonetheless. I am very impressed with this plug set and have already ordered more. Received two of these. One for each vehicle. One would not charge right out of the box. Called Amazon expecting a fight. I was wrong, a new one was sent immediately at no additional charge and no need to return the defective unit.
Have used both units to inflate bike tires, balls and to power 12VDC items. Unit works exactly as advertised. Do not use it to inflate an air mattress. It's not designed for that type of work - ask me how I know ;)

I have always been able to fix electrical problems on cars but sometimes at much wasted expense and effort. Tracy Martin's book is simply the best book I have ever read on this subject. It is a "nuts and bolts" book that tells you why and how to test a certain way. Suddenly automotive electrical systems make sense to me. This book will save much wasted effort. My father was an electrical engineer and he figured out electrical problems for me. When he died I had to figure this stuff out for myself and I wish I had paid more attention. This is a very good book for beginners and good reference for the pros. My intent is to rewire a 1954 Chevy truck from scratch. I have added many custom components to the truck that could prove to be a complicated task. This book will assist nicely with an introduction to electricity for automotive purposes as well as diagnose any problems that I encounter along the way. hey guys, im a gm technician and i got this scanner to keep in my tool box for when other makes of cars come in and i've now used it on 3 different vehicles and ive gotta tell you, this is probably the best scan tool i've used with the exception of professional grade tools from snap-on or mac that can cost 10 thousand or more. this is definately the right choice for anyone who needs a good tool for pulling codes.


im not sure how well it can read into the CAN systems to pull codes from various modules (such as transfer case control modules and things of that nature), but thats only because i havnt had a chance to try it on one with a known issue yet. as for the PCM, it's got a great library of codes, and the live data is something you typically dont see on tools like this. the live data info available for viewing varies but for most vehicles it includes the basics like throttle position, engine load, short term and long term fuel trim, mass air flow readings, and even oxygen sensor readings. this does not show extremely detailed pcm data, but for the weekend mechanic or anyone who needs a code puller or secondary scan tool, this is it. if youre looking for a hand held, you found the perfect match right here.   -By Noah F. I have now been using this for 3 months. It has worked on my dads 1998 Jeep, my 2002 Olds silhouette, My 1998 F-150 and a few of my friends vehicles. I have not found a vehicle it did not work on. The live data was excellent as I was able to figure out my catalytic converter was bad by watching the o2 sensors. It also allowed me to read enhanced codes to tell me my BCM went out in it as well. I used this for my 2007 Ford Mustang GT after the dealer recommended tool failed to do the job. This kit included the right fitting to go on the T handle, and it simultaneously rotates and compresses the caliper piston when you turn the handle. Note that I found I had to rotate the collar every few turns to keep it snug against the piston, because the piston compressed faster than the T handle advanced into the collar. Without a tool like this, the job would have been impossible, because Ford's design makes the pistons incredibly difficult to compress, and I couldn't apply enough pressure by hand with a ratchet to compress it while simultaneously rotating. Note that I found that even with this tool, I needed to use a pipe to give myself enough leverage to rotate the T-handle. (But this is Ford's fault. The tool worked as intended and it was cheap!)   - By Smilla

I had a heck of a time finding a brake piston compression tool for my Mazda 3. I purchased this one in the hopes that it would do the job. The good news is that I managed to make it work. The bad news is that it did not come with an attachment that fit the holes on my brake piston very well. There was one that just barely worked if I kept enough tension on the system. Instead of taking just a minute or two per side it took me about 10 minutes. Still, having this tool made it MUCH easier than it would have otherwise been. -By Aaron B

I bought this tool to service the valves on my classic Triumph overhead cam engines, namely the TR7, Stag and Dolomite Sprint. An OHC engine needs a tool that will reach well down into the tappet bore to compress the valve springs. This tool worked beautifully, and it would work just as well on pushrod engines also. Smart Scan Check Engine Light Diagnostic Tool

When your "Check Engine" light comes on, the Black & Decker AD950 self-diagnostic tool displays the same information stored in a car’s computer that a mechanic uses to diagnose and fix problems.

When the "Check Engine" light comes on, for cars manufactured after 1995, insert the SmartScan in the OBDII port near the steering wheel column. The easy-to-read LED screen displays the fault code – the same information a mechanic will see – for why the "Check Engine" light illuminated.

Bought this timing light as a replacement for my 20 years old one that finally broke down. It is cheap so I am not expecting a high quality product. It is for one of my old car that still needs to adjust timing which is going to retire in the next two years. As long as the light works, I don't care about the quality. Well, it worked, for the first 10 seconds. Then the light started flickering (at much lower rate than it suppose to be) for about a minute. After that, it stopped working all together.


The old saying of you get what you paid for once again held true. Now the light is on its way back and I am ordering the (twice) more expensive one. The time I lost on this light is not worthy the wait for another try.


Only thing I feel good about is I bought the light from Amazon instead of from Ebay (ebay is a few cents cheaper, but same item, from the look of the photo). Thanks to Amazon's return policy, I lost nothing but time.   -By C.Huang

I bought this product for working on a moped. As I have very high hand strength the ratchet is small enough that shearing off bolts is unlikely. The unfortunate problem is that the deep sockets only go to 13mm and the regular sockets only go to 14mm. However the sockets are 6 point so rounding off the corners of the bolts is highly unlikely too. Great for small engine repair. If you're working on rusty stuff WD40 the heck out of them, wait five minutes, wipe off the bolt heads, then apply force. Again the short ratchet is perfect for applying minimum torque.  -By A.G.

This set is now in my fifth wheel camper to be used when I need a quick repair on the road. Appears to be of good quality, and so far fit the nuts and bolts well. Nowadays, one cannot be sure where the machinery is made, so you need to have both SAE and Metric from now on.   -Dale Hutchison "dh"

I bought these thinking they would be fine for just in my truck tool box to use sparingly and they are a little cheaper than I was expecting the open end is kinda rounded and cheap but they are $20 so cant expect too much I wish I would have spent 10 or 20 bucks more for a little nicer one.   -Justin Seaquist
